KARACHI: Thousands attended the funeral of slain ‘qawwal’AmjadSabri, who was buried alongside his father, the late great GhulamFaridSabri, here in Paposh Nagar graveyard on Thursday.
Earlier, Sabri’s body was shifted to the place of funeral where thousands had gathered to pay their final respects. The funeral prayer, led by Ahmed MasoodChishti, was offered after Zuhr prayer.
The 40-year-old was shot to death in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area after unidentified gunmen opened fire on his vehicle, critically injuring him in the process.
AmjadSabri was son of the renowned qawwal of the ‘60s, GhulamFaridSabri and the nephew of qawwali icon MaqboolSabri who passed away in 2011.
