ISLAMABAD: Acting President Mian Raza Rabbani on Wednesday said Pakistan’s constitutional history needs to be included in the curriculum so that the young generation knows about the struggle and sacrifices that were made for rights and freedom. He said that we as Pakistanis need to acknowledge the sacrifices rendered by the unsung heroes for democracy and supremacy of the constitution. He made these remarks during a ceremony held to distribute certificates among team members of National College of Arts (NCA), Rawalpindi and to acknowledge the work of Senate Secretariat, Capital Development Authority and Synergy Deutsu, at the Parliament House on Wednesday. It may be noted that the above mentioned teams worked together on the recently launched “Gali e Dastoor” by the Upper House at Parliament House. The chairman Senate said the concept of this gallery was conceived last year when for the first time, Constitution Day was celebrated by the Senate and it was made a practical reality after a team of artists, architects, faculty and students from NCA worked on the mural depicting constitutional history and the fountain depicting federalism. Mian Raza Rabbani acknowledged all people associated with the project individually and praised their work. NCA Rawalpindi Director Nadeem Tarar, faculty members Muhammad Ibrahim, Sohaina Elia, Mehmood Sheikh, Muhammad Bin Naveed and Ali Lasharie were acknowledged for conceiving and designing the gallery and courtyard along with nine students. Secretary Senate Amjed Pervez Malik, Joint Secretary (Admn) Maj (r) Syed Hasnain Haider and Assistant Director (Media) Shahana Afsar were acknowledged for supervising the project, providing administrative support and arranging chronology wise content respectively. Sardar M Omar, Aliya Zaidi and Addel Ahmed from Synergy Dentsu were praised for making the introductory video documentary which was played at the beginning of every visit to the “Gali e Dastoor” and is the essence of the gallery.
