LAHORE – Students’ future at stake as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken a stay order from the Lahore High Court (LHC) to prevent COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology from organising convocation.
The students and their parents expressed disappointment and anger over this action of the HEC. Students said they are facing mental stress and depression as their future is at stake. Parents said they spent their life saving on the education of their children but these tactics of the HEC are drowning their children’s future in depression and pessimism.
Students warned to stage a protest demonstration against the HEC. “Enough is enough! We are sick and tired of being victimised by HEC’s corrupt management. After sleeping for four years and letting thousands of students enroll in DDP, they suddenly wake up and launch an endless attack on our futures. Every single forum, Senate, Public Accounts Committee, Wafaqi Mohtasib and especially Lahore High Court itself has decided in favor of students. Only HEC is opposed to safeguarding our futures. We cannot allow this to continue any longer. Join us tomorrow outside HEC’s regional office to protest against their malicious and vicious agenda against the innocent students,” students expressed on social media.
